Thursday - Mud Is For Pies Not Yarn: Like a moth to the light we were drawn to the kaleidoscope. Don’t get burned when spinning only to
have your dancing colors bog down into ho-hum. We’ll explore several ways to preserve those lusciously colored rovings that we’ve all purchased instead of losing their lovely distinctiveness.
Workshop fee: $80 for guild members
Materials Fee: $40 per student
Friday - Artisan Yarns:
Spinning is painting a picture with the texture, crimp, luster, and colors of fiber. This workshop goes beyond an introduction to a variety of artisan spinning techniques to exploring the ways a yarn’s elements interact. We will explore how color is used in creating a yarn, as we paint with fiber.
Workshop fee: $80 for guild members
Materials Fee: $50 per student
Saturday - Keep Your Scales to Yourself! The “Unfelting” Workshop: Let’s sort out how to dye, heat set, and wash feltable wool and end up being able to spin it! We will practice dyeing on several fiber types so you can take home samples to play with.
Workshop fee: $80 for guild members
Materials Fee: $40 per student
Dates: Thursday, Friday & Saturday February 26, 27 & 28
Time: 9am to 4pm
Participants may sign up for one, two or all three workshops
